Comments: Plague rats are a whimsical catnip and valerian cat toy that cats love. Valerian creates a more mellow playtime than catnip alone, and cats seem to prefer it. However, the Plague Rat has a strong odor that some humans don't like. We store our ratsies in the freezer when we aren't playing with them. The cover is a rough-textured cloth that the cats love, but it doesn't stand up very well. All that being said, we always have at least one Plague Rat in the house. We bring it out when we have visitors, particularly if they are history buffs, Monty Python fans, or CDC employees. |

Comments: I got my five cats one for Christmas this year, thought it was a cool idea. I couldn't even get it out of the package before they were trying to get it. My cats are all very different, some old, some young, and some that play hard, and some that dont at all. Every single one of them loves it, they do not like to share though, I will have to get more. I highly highly recommend. |

Comments: My 7 yr. old male cat Big Boy loves his Plague Rat Toy. I will play with my cat on my lap and he loves chewing on its nose. (To me, it is a similar dental health action as using a wash cloth to rub on a baby's teeth & gums). I also play with the rat & my cat by stuffing his rat toy in between cushions with its nose sticking up and he tries to get it out. He gets all excited and kitten like especially when the long tail on his rat dangles off the edge of something like a step stool. I bought several different types of "chew" toys to help his dental/gum health and this by far is his favorite from the start. With my interactive playing with this toy, it may have strengthened his interest in playing on his own. (But he instantly became big time curious as soon as his box of toys arrived from Nip and Bones some weeks back). I know he plays with his rat while he's alone because it has been found in various places throughout the apt. everyday - in the mornings when I get up & when I return from work. |

Comments: I was given two of these plague rats several years ago as a gift. One of my cats went crazy for them. She absolutely loved them, and continued to sleep with them, cuddle them, and lick them years later. However, recently I got two more plague rats. My cats showed a mild interest in them for about 15 minutes. Since then, they've ignored them. What happened? |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: This is a really durable toy. My cats go nuts for valerian and tend to rip, tear, and play too rough to get to it. This toy holds up to the kitty abuse! |

Comments: I have two wonderful cats! One whos 20 and the other thats just barely 2. Both of them LOVE the plague rats. I have one that thinks its his new long lost love, and the other that just loves to rough house. They are slightly stinky, but for the fun I see my cats having, well worth it :) Thanks Nip & Bones :) |

Comments: My cats probably have way too many choices when it comes to toys, so maybe I bought this for me...it's cute! But it's durable and a nice size for bunny kicking say my cats! |

Comments: When I order the Plague Rats I need to make sure I am home to get the box and put it away immediately otherwise I would have 4 cats fighting with each other to open the box. Our cats range from 3 yrs to 11 yrs and each one of them loves their Plague Rat. They are well made and last a very long time. |
